Manchester Marauders Exhibition Launch

We're now only a couple of days away from the opening night special of the Manchester Marauders exhibition brought to you by Air Adam. If you've no idea what I'm talking about, get familiar by reading on.

"Manchester Marauders is an exhibition of my photography celebrating the Manchester Hip-Hop scene and some of the people from it who have influenced me since I came to the city. 

Twenty years after the release of A Tribe Called Quest's "Midnight Marauders," the centrepiece of the show is a re-imagining of that famous album cover - featuring 49 respected Manchester-connected Hip-Hop figures - on display for the very first time.

This opening event will be headlined by a cipher from a number of the "Marauders" themselves - MCs and DJs featured on the piece throwing down live!

DJ A-Up (In The Loop)

Omas & DEEJAY13 (At Large) - special Tribe breaks & samples set!

Prints of the main piece will be available to buy and take away on the night - maybe just a small future piece of local history? ;)

The evening starts at 6pm with a short film from In The Loop's Agent J and Bedos followed by the unveiling of the "Manchester Marauders" centre piece of the exhibition. Then there will be DJ sets and a cipher from the artists mentioned above.

DJ Woody Presents Hip Hop Is 40 (Trailer)

DJ Woody is set to rock his next audio visual show after the success of both "Turntables In Technicolor" and "Big Phat 90's". The new live experience is "Hip Hop Is 40".

Sons Of Anarchy Season 6

Sons Of Anarchy fans will be pleased to hear that the premiere for season 6 is this coming Tuesday (10th) on FX. Unfortunately this is the start date for US viewers and the UK may have to wait until February 2014. I'm sure those with initiative will find a way around this though.

Eminem Announces MMLP2 (Trailers)

Yesterday Beats By Dre released a couple of trailers announcing the upcoming new album from Eminem. The name of the upcoming album is "MMLP2" which is to be a sequel to to 2000's "The Marshall Mathers LP". Both trailers feature the new single "Berzerk" due out on Tuesday.

We don't see much in the first trailer but in the second Eminem has his bleach blonde hairdo back and there is a very old school Beastie Boys look about him.  

Executive produced by Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin, could "MMLP2" be a return to the Slim Shady of old? Watch the trailers for a snippet of the track. "MMLP2" arrives November 5th.

Black Dave - Take It Back (Video)

Bronx emcee and skateboarding enthusiast Black Dave releases the video "Take It Back" from his forthcoming mixtape "Black Bart". As you can guess from the song title, the video is a throwback to the 90's and there are even a couple of cameos from the movie Kids, which was notorious around that era.

The Foreign Exchange - His & Her (Album Trailers)

After a few years away, The Foreign Exchange (Phonte and Nicolay) get ready to release their anticipated new album "Love In Flying Colors". Director Kenneth Price has put together a trailer for the album in which you see the growth of a fan and hear the progression of their music from the first album "Connected" up to now.

Watch "Her" below. "Love In Flying Colors" is due to be released at the tail end of September.

Kevin Couliau: The Soul Of Silence

Kevin Couliau, photographer and co-director of "Doin' It In The Park: Pick-Up Basketball, New York City", put together a small tribute to the city's playgrounds from his time filming there in 2010 and 2011.

TLC Movie Teaser Trailer

I'm not too sure how I feel about this one. On first glance, there is an eerie resemblance to TLC and the recreation of the music videos look exactly the same. There's just something about it that doesn't feel right to me.

JT Teases New Album (Video)

So a second part to Justin's 20/20 Experience is on the way as you can see from this clip that went up today. The date isn't revealed but a snippet of the track "Take Back The Night" can be heard throughout.

The Return Of Luther

 

Recently, for the second time, I've been watching seasons 1 and 2 of the popular BBC series, Luther, starring Idris Elba. Today I was pleasantly surprised to see that there is a season 3 on the way. And a lot sooner than I expected. DCI John Luther returns to our screens on Tuesday the 7th July and below you can see the trailer for the upcoming series.
